What can I expect from being in the Texas State Pageant?
You'll have fun being a part of something that will give you a chance to show your
personality as well as meeting other girls your own age! You'll get to dress up and
most of all you could win some really spectacular prizes!

Do I have to look like a model?
This is not just a natural beauty pageant but an opportunity for you to participate in
an event to have fun and just be yourself! The focus will be on your personality,
poise, attitude, on stage question and community service.


Is there a fee to enter the Pageant?
Yes, there is a non-refundable/transferrable registration fee which covers the cost
of the pageant's organizational production to include venue rental, advertising,
printing costs, lighting and sound equipment, awards, judges and all other costs
associated with the pageant.  We are a self supporting pageant system.


How can I obtain registration fee to enter Pageant?
Either by entering a Preliminary Pageant and winning a FREE entry or entering a
Preliminary Pageant and winning a DISCOUNTED entry as a runner up.  Most
contestants get their registration fee through sponsorships. Contestants can be
sponsored by parents, friends, businesses where your parents do business with, ie.
Car Dealerships, Furniture Stores, Doctors, Attorneys, Restaurants to name just a
few.

What is the judging process?
The judging system is on a point scale of 1-10. The categories will include:
Formal Wear, Casual Wear and Onstage Question for those ages 4+.


Does my formal dress have to be expensive?
Definitely not. What is important is that it meets the rules and is a dress that you
enjoy. The formal wear scoring is based on your poise and presentation in the
dress; not the dress itself.  Formal Gowns MUST BE floor length for girls ages
10+ or you will be scored down 1 point per pageant judge.  Dress can be of any
color.

Do I have to stay at the hotel?
No. However, it helps make the weekend more enjoyable for you since all of the
pageant events are right there. If you would like to stay at the hotel, there are
special discount room rates available for the pageant contestants, families and
guests. Prior to the pageant you will receive hotel/venue info.

Can I win the pageant without participating in the optional contests?
Absolutely! The optional contests are provided to give you more ways to gain
experience as well as earn recognition, trophies, and awards. The more things you
enter, the more opportunities you have to win trophies and get the most out of the
pageant weekend!

Am I required to sell ads for the program book?
No.  Program book ad sales are completely optional. A hostess title with sash and
crown will be given to each girl who sells 3 ad pages each totalling $150.


What forms of payment are accepted?
Payment may be made by personal check, money order, American Express, VISA
or Master Card. Checks and money orders should be made payable to:
